Siapakah yang digelar Sahabat Nabi?

Definasi "Para Sahabat"

[Fathul Bari (7/1)]

Who are the Companions of the Prophet?

Definition of “the Companion”:

al-Hafiz Ibnu Hajar رحمه الله said: “The most correct opinion which I have accepted is that a Companion is: the one who met the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم while believing in him, and had died upon Islam (as a Muslim). Included in this (definition) is: the one who had spent a long period of time in the company of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and also the one who had spent only a short instance; and the one who narrated from him صلى الله عليه وسلم and the one who did not; and the one who participated with him صلى الله عليه وسلم in military expeditions and the who did not; and the one who had seen him صلى الله عليه وسلم only once, even if he did not attend his gathering; and the one who was not able to see him because of an excuse, like a blind person.” [al-Isaabah Fi Tamyyiz al-Sahabah (1/4)]

Imam an-Nawawi رحمه الله said: “The correct position, which is that of the great majority, is that every Muslim who saw the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم even for an hour, then that person is from his Sahaabah.” [Syarh Sahih Muslim (16/85) of an-Nawawi]

Imam Ahmad رحمه الله said: “Every person who accompanied the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم whether for a year, a month, a day, an hour, or even just saw him - is from his Companions.” [al-Kifayah fi `Ilmir-Riwayah (p.99) of al-Khatib al-Baghdadi]

Imam al-Bukhari رحمه الله said: “He who accompanied the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم or saw him - from the Muslims - then he is from his Sahaabah.” [Fath ul-Bari (7/1)]

Prohibition of Speaking Without Knowledge

Friday 15 March 2013

Ibnu Majah narrates in his Sunan,

Abu Bakr bin Abi Syaibah told us. He said; Yazid bin Harun uttered to us. He said; Abdul Malik bin Qudamah al-Jumahi uttered to us from Ishaq bin Abil Farrat from al-Maqburi from Abu Hurairah, He said; Rasulullah SAW said, “There will come to the people years of treachery, when the liar will be regarded as honest, and the honest man will be regarded as a liar; the traitor will be regarded as faithful, and the faithful man will be regarded as a traitor; and the Ruwaibidhah will decide matters.” It was said 'Who are the Ruwaibidhah?' The Prophet replied:Vile and base men who will speak in the affairs of the people.” (Narrated by Ibnu Majah) [1]

The noble hadith explained to us;

1. The dangers of saying without the foundation of knowledge.

Allah The Almighty stated in the Noble Quran, "And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned." [Quran 17:36, Saheeh International]

He (Allah) said again, "O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. He only orders you to evil and immorality and to say about Allah what you do not know." [Quran 2:168-169, Saheeh International]

Thus, anyone who loves to speak using the religious words without attaining the proper knowledge, know that he is an ally of the Shaytaan, not defenders of Deen (religion) and not even defenders of justice nor upholder of Islamic Sharia!

2. This hadeeth tells us the importance of being sincere, at the same time also warns us about the dangers of deception.

Rasulullah SAW said, “Truth leads to piety and piety leads to Jannah. A man persists in speaking the truth till he is enrolled with Allah as a truthful. Falsehood leads to fajir and fajir [2] leads to the Fire (Hell), and a person persists on telling lies until he is enrolled as a liar". [Narrated by Muslim from Abdullah bin Mas'ud]

3. This hadith indicates importance of maintaining the trust and reminds us all of the dangers betraying trust.

The Prophet SAW said, "Wait for the hour when trust will be destroyed." A man asked, 'How it would be destroyed?', and he said: "Wait for the hour when the rule will be entrusted to those who don't deserve it." [Narrated by al-Bukhari from Abu Hurairah]

Rasulullah SAW also said, "He who is not trustworthy has no Faith" [Narrated by al-Bayhaqi in Syu'abul Iman, from Anas bin Malik, graded 'hasan' by al-Albaani in Takhrij Misykat al-Mashabih [35], asy-Syamilah]

4. This hadith explains, when society is in a state of chaos then shall them return to the scholars.

The scholars mentioned here are those who strictly adheres to the Quran and Sunnah by the understandings of the true manhaj of our pious predecessor (Salafussoleh) for they who know best the true meaning of life to our own. The scholars themselves has constructed a method called as 'Lau Kana Khayran Lasabaquuna Ilayhi' "لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَسَبَقُونَا إِلَيْهِ" (If there was any good in it, they would have preceded us in (doing) it.) If any action had goodness in it, then the companions of the Prophet  would have preceded us in it. So it means, whatever goodness there is, the Prophet and his companions have already shown it to us and now there is no need for inventing new things in religion is all aspects, including the muamalah (Islamic transaction), da'wah (preaching), tawheed (oneness of God), Jihad and others.

Larangan Berkata-kata tanpa Ilmu

Imam Ibnu Majah meriwayatkan di dalam Sunannya :

Free Mixing in Islam

Tuesday 5 March 2013

What is permissible and what is not?

How to avoid free mixing?
  • Men and women are permitted to be in the same place. (i.e. shops, streets etc)
  • Men and women should avoid situations where they are crowded together or seated together.
  • Repetitive acquaintance should be avoided to prevent familiarity.
  • Business like discussion between man and woman is permissible when necessary.

Why is it like this?
  • Prevention of intimate relationships developing outside of marriage.
  • Prevention of gossip and slander that can destroy relationships and families.
  • Prevention of one party "falling in love" and being hurt.
  • Prevention of children being born outside of marriage.
  • Prevention of families being broken up.

The Evidence

Allah says: "Nor come nigh to adultery". [Quran 17:32]

Allah says: "Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them." and says: "And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty." [Noble Quran 24:30-31]

Allah says: "And when you ask the ladies for anything, ask them from behind a screen. That makes for greater purity for your hearts and for theirs." [Noble Quran 33:53]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade men and women from being alone together. He said: "Never is a man alone with a woman except that Satan is the third party with them." [Narrated by at-Tirmidhi #3118]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: "Do not enter into the company of women." A man then asked him: "What about her male in-laws?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: "The in-law (al-hamwu) is death (the most dangerous)". [Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said: "It is better for one of you to be pierced by a steel pin in his head than to touch the hand of a strange woman." [Narrated by al-Thabrani in Mu'jam al-Kabir 20:211. Classed as Saheeh by al-Albaani]

Allah says: "Be not too complaisant of speech, lest one in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire: but speak with a speech (that is) proper." [Noble Quran 33:32].

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Any woman who puts on perfume then goes and passes by some men to let them find her scent is a type of adulteress." [Narrated by Ahmad in his Musnad & Tirmidhi]

Ummu Salamah said: "When the Prophet (peace be upon him) completed the prayer, the women would get up to leave. He would then wait awhile before standing." Ibn Shahab said: "I believe that he waited for a while to give the women an opportunity to depart before the men." [Narrated by Bukhari]

It was related in al-Bukhari, Book of Hajj that women at the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not circumambulate the Ka'bah along with the men. Aisyah used to go around the Ka'bah at a good distance from the men and avoided mixing with them. Once another woman bade to her to go forward with her so they could touch the corner of the Ka'bah. Aisyah refused to do so and say, "You the only one who go". [Narrated by Bukhari]

One of Aisyah's handmaidens came to her and said: "O Mother of believers, I went around the Ka'bah seven times and touched the corner twice or trice". Aisyah replied: "May Allah not reward you for pushing your way through men. It would have been sufficient for you to you to say "Allah Akbar" as you passed by". [Narrated by asy-Syafie in his Musnad]

Pergaulan Bebas Menurut Islam

Friday 1 March 2013

  • Pencegahan berlakunya hubungan intim sebelum pernikahan
  • Mengelakkan satu pihak "bertepuk sebelah tangan" lalu hati disakiti
  • Mengelakkan berlakunya gejala anak luar nikah
  • Mengelakkan keretakan hubungan sesama keluarga (kerana zina, dsb)

Dalilnya

Firman Allah, "Dan janganlah kamu menghampiri zina". [Quran 17:32]

[Quran 33:53]

Rasulullah SAW bersabda, "Janganlah kalian sekali-kali memasuki tempat wanita". Maka bertanya seorang Ansar, 'Bagaimana pula dia adalah ipar?' Lalu Baginda SAW menjawab, "al-hamwu (ipar) adalah maut (berbahaya)". [Hadith Riwayat Tirmidzi]

[Quran 33:32]

Rasulullah SAW bersabda, "Mana-mana wanita yang memakai wangi-wangian kemudian keluar rumah dan melepasi satu kaum (golongan lelaki) lalu kemudian mereka menghidu bau wanginya, maka dia (wanita itu) adalah penzina". [Hadith Riwayat Ahmad di dalam Musnadnya & Tirmidzi]

Ummu Salamah berkata, "Apabila Baginda Rasulullah SAW selesai bersembahyang (di masjid), maka para wanita akan bangun terlebih dahulu kemudian beredar. Baginda kebiasaannya menunggu sebentar sebelum berdiri". Ibnu Shahab berkata, "Baginda menunggu sementara untuk memberikan laluan untuk para wanita keluar dahulu sebelum diikuti para lelaki". [Riwayat Bukhari]
